At 4pm on Sunday 3rd March, Loosely Woven, consisting of 20 instrumentalists and singers, returns to Avalon Baptist Church (2 George St, Avalon Beach, NSW) with their ‘Déjà Vu ’24’ concert – featuring highlights from last year’s concerts.
The program includes Paul Kelly’s powerful ‘Sleep Australia Sleep’ as well as two specifically anti-war songs – ‘Johnny I hardly knew ye’ and Swtizerland’s recent Eurovision entry ‘Watergun’.
There will be several well-known songs, ranging from Beatles to Puccini, some Australian songs, including one by Archie Roach, and some lesser-known songs.
Instruments this time will include violins, saxophones, clarinet, flute, melodica, harp, guitars, keyboard and percussion.
The concert is free, but donations to Amnesty International are welcome.
