The Amnesty International WA LGBTQI Action Group and Refugee Group are proud to host an exclusive screening of “Last Chance” for national Refugee Week.

This moving film documents the journeys of five LGBTQI individuals who are seeking asylum in Canada in order to escape homophobic violence in their homelands.

Last Chance” is a powerful reminder of the importance of safe asylum for those who are persecuted around the world. There are currently refugee detention centres located in countries where homosexuality is illegal – leaving LGBTQI asylum seekers at risk of further persecution.

Follow these five individuals as they face hurdles integrating into Canada, fear deportation and anxiously await a decision that will change their lives forever.
