At Amnesty International, we campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. We defend human rights around the world, and at home in Australia.
We stand with over 7 million people in 150 countries who speak with one voice for justice, freedom, human dignity and equality. Those 7 million people demand change from those who can make change happen. That means bringing torturers to justice, changing oppressive laws, and freeing people jailed just for voicing their opinion. None of this happens without people like you.
Join our global human rights movement to protect human rights, and people’s lives. Amnesty volunteers campaign in their communities to create change in the lives of people whose rights are abused and violated.
What do we do?
We work to:
• ensure the rights of refugees are respected and that asylum seekers are able to lead safe and stable lives.
• end the overrepresentation of Indigenous young people in detention within a generation.
• defend people across the globe imprisoned, tortured, and executed by their governments because of who they are, who they love, or just for doing their job.
Come along on the 4th of April to and find out how you can get active with Amnesty International and defend human rights, right here in Brisbane.
