Australia’s youth justice and incarceration system submission guide

Note : Submissions to this Inquiry close on 10 October 2024.

Following a motion from the Australian Greens, Australia’s youth justice and incarceration system will now be explored through an Inquiry by the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee. This Inquiry offers an opportunity for the Commonwealth government to finally address Australia’s failing youth justice systems.

Following a period of receiving submissions and conducting hearings, the committee will produce a report to the government, by the 26th of November.

For this report to genuinely make recommendations to government that would Australia’s failing youth justice systems, writing a submission to this committee will be critical step. The following sections explain how you can help make a submission in a few easy steps.

  1. We have prepared a template submission you can use to write your submission. Download the template submission HERE.

  6. Share this with anyone else who you think should share their thoughts, and work with them on writing a submission.
