The rapid development of autonomous weapons systems, often called “killer robots,” poses a significant threat to human rights and global security. With machines being given the ability to make life-or-death decisions without human oversight, the ethical, legal, and humanitarian risks are unprecedented.

The Stop Killer Robots coalition, formed in 2012, is working to ensure that humans remain in control of the use of force. We are calling for new international laws to regulate autonomy in weapons systems and prevent the digital dehumanization of warfare. Machines should never replace human judgment in the decision to take a life.

With over 250 member organisations globally, we are pushing for the Stop Killer Robots Parliamentary Pledge. This pledge is a commitment from parliamentarians to work towards an international treaty that rejects the automation of killing and ensures meaningful human control over the use of force.

Call on your parliamentarian to sign the pledge and join the global movement to prevent autonomous weapons from replacing human control.
