This election, candidates need to start listening to First Nations voices and raise the age of criminal responsibility to 14.

Currently, in the Northern Territory, the age of criminal responsibility is twelve, however some voices are calling for kids as young as ten to be locked up. This issue is too important for politicians to use as a political football. We need to immediately raise the age of criminal responsibility to at least 14 years old.

On the 24th of August, Territorians will vote to elect their next government.

We need your help to tell your local candidates that Kids don’t belong in prison cells.

Any candidates who do not have a publicly available email or have already told us they support raising the age of criminal responsibility have been omitted from this form. To find out the position of the candidates in your electorate, you can read our election scorecards here.
