This year, for Wear it Purple Day, Amnesty’s LGBTQIA+ Action Group in Perth is teaming up with TransFolk of WA to offer people the opportunity to attend free Trans Ally Training, delivered by members of the Transgender Community.
The training will be 1 hour long and conducted online, to allow for greater accessibility for people who cannot currently travel due to current COVID restrictions.
TransFolk of WA are a well known organisation that provide a number of services and are most well known for the support they provide to the Trans Community and their loved ones.
Amnesty’s LGBTQIA+ Group has been around for a number of years and they, alongside groups around the country and the world, are dedicated to the protection and furtherance of LGBTQIA+ rights. We wish to use this event to remove some of the barriers to being allies to the Trans Community.
